While it’s a car’s exterior styling that draws the most attention, motorists tend to spend far more time sitting inside a vehicle than they do admiring it from the outside. Automakers are paying extra attention to their vehicles’ interiors these days, with some of the least expensive rides on the road now boasting luxury like accommodations.
Honoring the best designs among 2012 vehicles having new or redesigned cabins, the editors at WardsAuto World Magazine recently announced their annual list of 10 Best Interiors. While there was no price cap on entries, fully half of the models cited are considered “affordable,” which is a testament to how far automakers are going to provide a rewarding vehicular experience to drivers in all price ranges.
The award winners include the subcompact Chevrolet Sonic and Hyundai Accent, and the compact Dodge Dart sedan, Volkswagen Beetle coupe and Mazda CX-5 crossover. Also cited were the upscale Audi A7, Chrysler 300 and Hyundai Azera sedans and the Infiniti JX35 and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque SUVs.
